Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Deadwax Club ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Deadwax Club iOS app and website. By using Deadwax Club you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and, optionally, your name. Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.
- Your content. The records, wishlists, prices, notes, images, and lists you add to the app are stored so they can sync across your devices and, where you choose, be shared with others.
- Camera and photo content. If you scan a barcode, camera access is used on device to read the barcode. If you take or choose a record photo, that image is stored with the record so it can appear in your collection and sync across your devices.
- Device tokens. If you enable push notifications we store an Apple Push Notification service token so we can send you alerts such as price drops and collection invites.
- Discogs access token. If you connect a Discogs account, your personal Discogs token is stored securely on your device in the iOS keychain and is used only to fetch record details on your behalf. It is not sent to our servers.
How we use your information
- To provide the app's core features: tracking your collection, scanning barcodes, saving record photos you add, syncing across devices, and sharing lists you choose to share.
- To send notifications you have opted into, such as price alerts and collection invitations.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the service.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only in the following circumstances:
- With other users you choose. When you share a list or invite someone to a collection, the relevant content becomes visible to those people. Public list links are accessible to anyone with the link until you disable sharing.
- With service providers. We use Supabase to host data and authentication, Apple's Push Notification service to deliver notifications, and the Discogs API to look up record information. These providers process data only to deliver these features.
- When required by law. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete records, lists, and other content from within the app at any time. When you delete your account, your associated personal data is removed from our systems.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable safeguards.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To delete your account or make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Deadwax Club is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
